Update: Driver ID'ed in Bedford County wreck
Source: The News & Advance, Lynchburg, Va.存倉Dec. 27--Updated 10:10 A.M.: Police on Friday identified the driver of a Hyundai Sonata involved in a Bedford County wreck Thursday.The driver was Adrienne Lee Hull, 26, of Boones Mill, police said.Also involved were Richard Lawrence Maddox, 68, of Blue Ridge, and his sister, Dianna Darlene Maddox, 62, of Lynchburg.Hull was discharged from the hospital Thursday night, and Darlene Maddox was released this morning, a Lynchburg General Hospital representative said.Richard Maddox remains at the hospital, but the representative would not disclose his condition.------Earlier: A two-vehicle wreck on U.S. 460 in Bedford County Thursday night sent three people to Lynchburg General Hospital and brought traffic to a temporary standstill.The collision happened at about 6:30 p.m. at the highway's intersection of Bethel Church Road.A preliminary investigation found that a 2008 Hyundai Sonata traveling northbound on Bethel Church Road failed to yield the right of way as it entered U.S. 460 and was struck by a 2003 Ford Explorer, which was heading eastbound U.S. 460, said Virginia State Police Sgt. Robert Carpentieri.The driver of the Sonata, a 26-year-old female from儲存Boones Mill whose name is not being released pending family notification, was airlifted to Lynchburg General for injuries sustained in the crash, he said. She was wearing her seatbelt, he said.The driver of the Ford Explorer, Richard Lawrence Maddox, 68, of Blue Ridge, and his sister, Dianna Darlene Maddox, 62, of Lynchburg, were transported by ambulance to the hospital for their injuries, he said. They were wearing seatbelts, he said.No charges were filed as of Thursday night and state police are continuing to investigate. Further information on the extent of the injuries was not available at press time.Ryan Burnette of the Forest Volunteer Fire Department said the driver of the Sonata was entrapped and had to be extricated due to the damage from the "T-bone" collision.Eastbound traffic was closed down for more than an hour due to the wreck, while westbound traffic was halted to allow for the helicopter transport, Burnette said.The wreck was close to the Bedford-Campbell border and drew emergency responders from each county.Copyright: ___ (c)2013 The News & Advance (Lynchburg, Va.)
