Alamo-based DriveLine International Inc., which declined to be interviewed for this story, has donated its services and is scheduled to deliver the thousands of books to Oklahoma on Friday. On Monday, a group of McAllen high school students helped gather and pack the books from collection sites. The aid effort also inspired others in the Valley. They included a Freebirds World Burrito location in Mission and Edinburg Economedes High School senior Nisha Mirari Sanchez, who each began their own drives to contribute books for 迷你倉庫he Oklahoma effort.According to media reports, Moore students went back to class Friday, still navigating the aftermath of the tornado that struck their town.In a July letter, Moore school district Superintendent Robert Romines announced the "Rising from the Storm" fundraising campaign, adding that 15 other Moore schools also need help after a second round of tornadoes struck the town May 31.Romines said the district must increase its operating budget cash flow because insurance won't completely cover the losses. The long-term recovery effort continues, reflected in small efforts like the call for volunteers to set up schools for students earlier this month and a workshop next week asking residents to envision their neighborhoods going forward.jarmendariz@themonitor.com--HOW TO HELP--Mail monetary donations/gift cards to: Moore Public Schools Donation Center/Tornado Relief Fund, 1500 SE Fourth St., Moore, OK 73160, (405) 735-4219--Make a donation: fundly.com/moorepublicschools--Make a donation or volunteer moore.recovers.org/Copyright: ___ (c)2013 The Monitor (McAllen, Texas) Visit The Monitor (McAllen, Texas) at .themonitor.com Distributed by MCT Information Services儲存
