TriMet ticketing app getting rave reviews from riders (share your experiences
Source: The Oregonian, Portland, Ore.儲存Sept. 04--To listen to TriMet, you'd think its new mobile-ticketing app was the greatest thing since sliced buses.Actually, I'm not sure what a sliced bus would look like. Maybe it's a bus that breaks off into little pods to pick up passengers on the routes that the transit agency has cut and eliminated in recent years. Now that would be great.Anyway, I digress. This thing is on the marketing bullet train, with a stop at a 10 a.m. launch party at Portland State University. On Twitter at least, the TriMet Tickets app appears to be living up to the hype. Almost everyone seems to love the thing. Only one person, blogger Lane Jensen, a regular TriMet polemicist, who appears to have run into a glitch. And for those frustrated that the discounted passes they receive from their employer aren't transferable to the app, that issue will be addressed soon, GlobeSherpa says. Here's a sample of what's being tweeted:It's safe to say that mobile ticketing is by far the coolest thing @trimet has done in years. Nicely done!-- erk (@insektmute) September 4, 2013I used the new Trimet ticket smartphone app for the first time this morning. Worked like a charm.-- Mick Taylor (@elmicko) September 4, 2013The @trimet mobile ticketing app from @globesherpa is pretty sweet. Way more convenient than trying to find a MAX station to buy tickets!-- Peat Bakke (@peat) September 4, 2013@trimet ticke新蒲崗迷你倉ing app is live today -- and it rocks! Great work from #PDX's own @globesherpa!!-- Keith Daly (@keithdaly) September 4, 2013#trimet Looks like my plans today are shot thanks to the new ticket app not working. UGH. cc @globesherpa-- PDX Transit Lane (@pdxtransitlane) September 4, 2013.@trimet ah, yes. I get my pass through my work, so it would be nice to be able to get it electronically, or register the pass with the app.-- Brian Wethington (@thegreenland) September 4, 2013Read my review of the GlobeSherpa-built app here and check out the Hard Drive Q&A about the app from Tuesday, when it was unofficially launched on iTunes and Google Play.Have you downloaded the Tickets app? How's it working for you? Experienced any bugs? Feel free to share your experiences in the comments section.Update: During this morning's launch event at PSU, TriMet General Manager Neil McFarlane said the ticketing app had sold 3,100 tickets, generating $19,000 in revenue before the official launch at 10 a.m. GlobeSherpa said serveryoutu.be/3m3ZkJTX1qY data showed most of the users so far are people using iPhones, iPads and other Apple iOS devices. Meanwhile, the Portland Streetcar has announced that it will launch its own GlobeSherpa ticketing app next week.-- Joseph RoseCopyright: ___ (c)2013 The Oregonian (Portland, Ore.)
